Les Quais (Palavas les Flots)

Slender silhouettes along the quays similar to jousting lances... Objective of the project: Break the linearity and rigidity of the quays with curved masts and undulated brackets forming a visual echo of the shape of the waves, also recalling the movement of the Posidonia meadows. The lighting suggests the colorful flowers of our region and creates daytime entertainment through their color. The blue pointed end visually lightens each element by giving it a slender shape towards the sky. As for the large masts, the desired symbolism was to recall the jousting lances by a point cut at its end and their bulwarks (jutting shields) by a rectangular and flat LED floodlight. In addition to this design aspect, the design of the brackets as well as the lighting fixtures prevents the placement of gulls and birds with webbed feet which have difficulty maintaining themselves on narrow round or concave shapes given the characteristics of their legs.
